We are beyond excited to be back at it and for everything this year has in store. We continue to strive to offer you not only high quality dance training, but to build a community that raises great kids, supports parents and where everything we do, day in and day out, aligns with our manifesto.

First up this year, were our competition team bonding events on January 13. These events are an opportunity for our dancers to spend time together outside of the studio, and encourage camaraderie and connection among our competition teams– not to mention, they are a ton of fun!

Our dancer and parent speaker session called Grow Your Mind is taking place on Sunday, January 28. We encourage you all to sign up for this amazing afternoon. We recognize the complexities of being, and raising, a dancer and are committed to growing healthy minds and bodies. This event is meant to be an experience that will inspire and motivate our families. We want dance, and our community, to develop self-confidence and support a positive self-image for all of our dancers.

Our studio is a community, and a welcoming home for your family. February brings our second Parent Viewing week of the year as well as our SPA’s Pop Up Sale. Mark your calendars for these events, happening the week of February 3-9, 2018 and be sure to attend.

We believe in providing our dancers with amazing traveling experiences (we’ve been to Disneyland, New York City, England, Los Angeles, Mexico and more). Come March we get busy! This year we have 27 dancers travelling to Disney/L.A./Las Vegas from March 30 to April 8. These dancers are hard at work preparing a 30-minute routine they will perform in the Disney Park, as well as at various locations in L.A. and Las Vegas. On the trip they will also have the opportunity to train at L.A.’s Edge Studio, taking classes and getting a Master Class from one of their faculty members; take class from Disney performers; and get a private workshop in Las Vegas. Before they head out they will hold a gala evening to unveil their show. On March 10 there will be two shows; an afternoon performance, and an evening program, which includes dinner, show and silent auction. We invite our entire Snap community to come out and support these dancers. Watch for ticket information in upcoming Newsbites.

Spring brings competition season – the most wonderful time of the dance year! Snap will be participating in three Calgary-area competitions. We compete, as we feel competitions are a positive experience for dancers. Snap dancers get to meet dancers from other studios and see many wonderful performances. It’s an exciting time full of friendship, teamwork and a lot of sparkly costumes! Snap’s goal is to do our best and grow our dancers in a fun filled environment. We aim to inspire and build a passion for dance in your child, teach life lessons that develop in to life long skills and encourage our dancers to find their own style and strengths.

This season, we have three recitals on June 2 (watch for recital information, coming in March). Recital day is always such a proud day for us, watching all of our dancers hit the stage after months of hard work and having our entire team there together. At Snap, we feel dancers should have a variety of influences and inspirations, that’s why we have a large team of exceptional, certified instructors, that we think are top-notch!

We value two-way, open and honest communication. We encourage dancers and their parents to sign up for an evaluation session in June with Miss Courtney or Miss Alison. It is a wonderful opportunity to debrief on your season and set goals for your growth. We love having one-on-one time with you all!

Finally, for this season, we are hard at work to bring you another stellar line up for our 2018 Summer Intensive. We believe dance should be educational, enjoyable, and inspiring. It is shaping up to be another amazing week of dancing and learning with a fabulous faculty. We will also have classes and camps for our younger dancers and those new to dance to get moving throughout the summer. Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

We are constantly evolving. Miss Courtney, Miss Alison and the admin team are always working to come up with exciting new ideas and opportunities to bring to the studio. This weekend Miss C, Miss A and Andrea are headed to Las Vegas for a weekend of learning and mentorship. Our entire Snap faculty meets for professional development sessions every other month, to ensure we continue to learn and grow and bring our best selves to the studio every single class. It is important to us ensure that Snap continues to provide you, our clients, with a solid product and service.

We thank you for allowing us to have a part in raising your children and for being a part of our Snap community. We are looking forward to dancing with you in 2018!
