After being shut down due to COVID in March, just as our performance season was about to kick off, our competitive students finally got to hit the stage on September 12 and 13.

Dancers worked hard all winter long on their competitive routines and it was heartbreaking to shut our doors and miss out on what is always the most exciting time of the dance season and not be able to celebrate our 10thanniversary recitals with our community.

Our motto though shutdown was ‘no dancer left behind’ – and though some families faced the devastation of both losing their jobs, our community rallied together, to keep any dancer who wanted to, dancing. Over $1400.00 from our Snap Parents’ Association and $2200.00 from individual families was donated.  This is truly a community that lifts each other up. Thank you!

Our dancers headed back into the studio for two weeks of rehearsals in early September to prepare and took to the Mitford Park Stage for two days, and 7 shows for family and friends – and what a celebration it was! Excitement, energy and emotions ran high as dancers finally got to perform their routines.

Congratulations to our graduates – Michaela, Paige and Jillian – it has been an honour to watch your grow up and be a part of your youth, and we have no doubt you will do incredible things in the world.

Congratulations also goes out to our 2019/20 year end award winners:

  • Outstanding Dancers: Jillian S., Fiona G. and Paige W.

  • Most Improved Dancers: Emily W., Aviva C. Rebecca N. and Cynthia L.

  • Heart Award Dancers: Quinn B., Sydney S., Zoie L. and Aiden S.

  • Oh Snap! Award Dancers: Brooke P., Julia I., and our 2020 Tour Dancers

  • Terry Dowling Awesome Dance Mom Award: Lyndsey Kinch

Team Snap – thank you for all of your hard work to pivot through our ‘new normal’ and to put these routines and shows together and for a successful weekend.

Thank you to our dancers for your unmatched energy, passion and commitment. Your performances were joyful, you danced from your heart and gave it your all.

Parents and family – thank you for your dedication to having your dancer continue with online training all spring (on top of homeschooling and working from home)- we know it wasn’t always easy. Thank you for coming out to support on recital weekend.

It felt amazing to be back together with our #snaptribe and we can’t wait to head into a fall competition season.

We are beyond grateful to have our doors open, and for the opportunity to dance. Here is to a wonderful new season. No matter what it brings, we will face it together, and come out on the other side, better and stronger, for we are truly better together.
