We are back from a whirlwind tour of Los Angeles and Las Vegas – and what a week it was!

Our 27 dancers and their families headed out on March 30. Our first day in L.A. was jam-packed with a city tour, where we got to explore Hollywood Blvd., Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills. That afternoon we took classes at the world-renowned Edge Studios with Calgary-native Sabrina Phillip, and did our first performance at the end of the Santa Monica Pier. The pier was jam-packed and we had a huge audience for the show. How exciting!

The next day, we took a private workshop with a Disney choreographer. We learned portions of three Disney shows and got lots of great advice on what it takes to be a performer in the happiest place on earth and then on Monday, we had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of dancing on a Disney stage at Disney’s California Adventure Park. It was truly magical!

We wrapped up our time in L.A. with a show at Pacific City Mall, right on Huntington Beach. How cool is it to dance with the ocean as your backdrop!?

From there we were off to Vegas, where we took a private class with Yayoi Ito, a Calgary-native who has performed with Britney Spears, and in the Donny and Marie Live show, to name a few. While in Vegas we also took in the show Beatles Love and had two performances of our own; at Doral Academy (an Arts Integration School) and at Tivoli Village, an outdoor shopping centre.

We were blown away by the professionalism of our dancers as they adapted to various weather conditions and performance locations (everything from cold and windy to desert heat, wooden piers and asphalt to beautiful, world-class stages). These trips are about those experiences, life lessons, and most importantly, about growing friendships and creating memories to last a lifetime. Thanks also goes out to the parents, for all you did to help our shows run smoothly. You are all amazing!

As always we are ever more grateful for our Snap tribe, and for the opportunity to share in these memories with you! Thanks to all for an unforgettable week!
