Meet the Teaching Team

Aviva Courte is a Calgary-based dancer, instructor, and performer who grew up training at Snap. She enjoys exploring multiple styles of dance and sharing her love of movement with others.
She has performed across North America — including California, Mexico, Vancouver, and her hometown of Calgary — in a range of professional and festival competition settings. Her credits include training with Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble, a professional company directed by acclaimed tap artist Tasha Lawson.

She has performed across North America — including California, Mexico, Vancouver, and her hometown of Calgary — in a range of professional and festival competition settings. Her credits include training with Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble, a professional company directed by acclaimed tap artist Tasha Lawson.
She has performed ensemble works for the International Tap Day Concert, as well as a tap solo performance choreographed by Conner Denison. Aviva has attended Leah Silva’s Orange County Tap Festival, trained with many esteemed tap dancers and performed in a 20 minute featured set with the Tri-Tone company. She has successfully completed her Advanced Adapt jazz and tap exams, as well as her Advanced Foundation RAD exam. In January 2026, Aviva will begin her training to become an RAD certified ballet teacher. Building on these experiences, she was recently selected for a coveted position on Team Canada’s Tap and Contemporary teams and will proudly represent her country at the World Championships in Ireland in 2026.
Aviva is so excited to begin sharing her passion with the younger generation at Snap.

Bella has been dancing with Snap for 14 years. For 7 of those years Bella has been an active member of the STEP student program, dedicating herself to her students and their success.
Bella values training history as well as movement. She believes in the importance of understanding the who and what that contributed to the creation of each individual step/style she learns.
Though she loves all genres of dance, Bella has taken a keen interest in Tap and Hip Hop related styles. She has trained with TriTone Rhythm Ensemble and Illfx Education, giving her a quality foundation, refining her skill and elevating her training.
Bella enjoys choreographing in contemporary with hip hop influences, as it gives her a chance to craft unique pieces suited to her style. She’s fascinated with music theory and aims to choreograph in such a way that her body becomes the music. Musicality and counts are how she trains best and its reflected in her choreography.
Bella sees teaching, performing and choreographing in her future and hopes to develop her dance career, something that’s defined her all her life, well into adulthood.

Elexie Tracy is a dedicated hip hop instructor with over seven years of teaching experience. She has studied in Eastern Canada, New York, and Australia, and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with Distinction from the University of Calgary.

Elexie Tracy is a dedicated hip hop instructor with over seven years of teaching experience. She has studied in Eastern Canada, New York, and Australia, and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with Distinction from the University of Calgary. Elexie has shared her love for hip hop at events such as the Atlantic Dance Festival and through Pay-What-You-Can community classes, and she also volunteers by teaching inclusive hip hop for children with developmental disabilities. She is passionate about honoring hip hop’s roots while creating a supportive environment where every student can grow with confidence.

Mr Gomo | Breakdance
B-boy Gomo from Calgary, Alberta Canada has been Breaking since 2006 developing a theatre, commercial and competitive background. He has had the opportunity to share his career all across North America through programs, workshops, events and has shared a stage with artists such as The tentacle Tribe(Montreal), Bird Gang(UK) and Just Dance(Korea).

Miss Jaz | Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Foundation
Jaz holds a degree in Applied Arts (Dance) from New Zealand’s Te Auaha Performance Centre, where her passion for theatrical performance took shape. She has served as Dance Captain and Instructor for major productions like Pippin, Cats, and Aida, and worked as Assistant Choreographer for the theatrical project Meander. Her choreographic voice blends classical technique with modern flair, drawing from a range of global styles, which she has incorporated into student showcases and performance-based workshops.
Currently based in Calgary, Jaz has been teaching for the past year, leading classes in jazz (PAEC certified), lyrical, contemporary, acro, aerial silks, lyra, and musical theatre. As a former Recreational Director, she oversaw a full-scale recital production—managing everything from casting to choreography, costuming, and technical coordination.
Whether directing musical theatre numbers or mentoring dancers in solo performances, Jaz is known for her expressive, high-energy teaching style and her commitment to building confident, well-rounded performers.

Miss Jenna has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, and combines her deep understanding of human movement with a passion for dance and baton twirling. She is the proud owner of a recreational dance studio in Olds, which she has operated since 2014.

She is certified in ADAPT Jazz and Tap, Acrobatic Arts Modules 1 and 2, Acrobatique (currently ADTA) and is a CBTF-certified baton coach. She has competed in the World Baton Twirling Championships and is an IBTF World Master Judge. Acro is a key component of baton twirling and Jenna was ahead of the curve in training and then teaching in acro with over 15 years of experience. Jenna brings international expertise to her work and is deeply involved in advancing the sport of baton twirling/acro on an international level.
With over a decade of experience, Jenna is dedicated to fostering technical excellence, creativity, and confidence in every student she works with.

Miss Jenna R | Tap, Jazz
Miss Jenna started her dance journey at the age of 5 as a competitive dancer in Calgary. She followed that journey through all of her RAD ballet exams (Pre Primary-Advanced 1), and into the Pre Professional Program at Central Memorial High School.
After graduating High School, Miss Jenna became a co-director at a few dance studios in Calgary. She has experience wearing many hats: Ballet Lead, Jazz Lead, Choreographer, Show Director and Dance Syllabus Creator. She now focuses on her true love – teaching dance.
Miss Jenna’s students have gone off in many different directions over the years: Doctors, Nurses, Lawyers, DJD’s Company, Alberta Ballet’s Professional Division, Harbour Dance Company and many more. At a competitive level her students have received many overall awards, choreography awards, judge’s choice awards and countless wonderful memories. Beyond competition Miss Jenna has spent much of her teaching career learning as much as she can from industry leaders through seminars, workshops and intensives. She has worked a lot on her professional development by achieving certifications in: ADAPT, Acrobatic Arts, Sugarfoot Therapy, MuvMethod, and Alixa Flexibility. While learning all of the different avenues of teaching Miss Jenna learned that her true passion is in keeping dancers safe, ensuring that they are enjoying their time in the studio, and most of all sharing the love of dance.

Miss Kelli | Jazz, Foundation, Acro, Cheer
From the bright lights of New York’s Broadway Dance Center to the star-studded studios of L.A.’s Edge Performing Arts Center, Miss Kelli has lived and breathed dance her entire life. A proud Calgarian with roots that run deep in the local arts scene, she took her first steps into the dance world at just five years old—and she hasn’t stopped since.
Miss Kelli’s journey has taken her from the competitive stage, where she earned accolades across Canada, to the spotlight as a professional dancer, award-winning choreographer, and beloved coach. She made her mark with the Calgary Stampeder Outriders Cheer & Dance Team, first as a standout performer, then as head coach and choreographer—a role she owned for five dynamic seasons. Her choreographic talent continues to shine as a sought-after guest artist for the team.
She’s graced the screen in a country music video featured on CMT, lit up stages with the Calgary Roughnecks Drill Crew, and brought the house down at countless benefit shows and live performances across the city.
Miss Kelli brings her signature energy, fierce passion, and star-quality presence to every class she teaches—whether working with young beginners or seasoned competitors. Her award-winning choreography and magnetic style have made her a favorite among dancers and parents alike.

Miss Kelsie | Jazz, Contemporary
Miss Kelsie’s roots in dance began in Northern Alberta. She has since trained at The Edge, Debbie Reynolds and IDA on Hollywood Blvd, studios in Los Angeles, Harbour Dance in Vancouver, O2 The Dance Company and WM2 Dance Company in Calgary as well as Onyx Dance studios, Base Studios and The Hub Studios in London, UK. She has choreographed for various dance companies across Canada and the UK. Performances include theatre productions, Broadway Live Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast, music videos and live performances including the 2017 Juno Awards, Alessia Cara, Gord Bamford, Rita Ora, Marianas Trench, Google, Mini Cooper, Marry Poppins and many more. She has trained in all classical styles since the age of three and has competed all around the world. She has spent the last 19 years teaching and choreographing and most recently lived in London where she taught and choreographed and performed for various studios and projects. She is beyond excited to be on board this year’s faculty and loves sharing her passion for dance and performance with others!

Miss Laura is a tap dancer, teacher and choreographer who continues to develop her artistic voice through practice, research, creation, teaching, and performing in Canada and abroad. Laura has performed in works by Lisa La Touche, Tasha Lawson, Derick Grant, Michelle Dorrance, Dormesia and more. Highlights include Fall For Dance North, Fluid Festival, Tap Dance Days at tanzhaus nrw, Tap Liege Festival, Toronto International Tap Dance Festival and Danny Nielsen’ 2023 tour of On Foot.

Laura grew up in Calgary, training in multiple styles of dance, where she completed her RAD Advanced I exam. Later, she trained extensively with the Tri-Tone Rhythm Ensemble under the direction of Tasha Lawson and is a graduate of the Tri-Tone teacher training program. Laura also holds a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education from Mount Royal University. With this experience, Laura is committed to providing exciting, cutting-edge, quality education that honours the beautiful legacy of tap dance and in her own artistic practice, she strives to inspire, connect, and reach.

Miss Megan | Ballet, Acro, Lyrical
Megan began dancing at the age of 4 in Stratford, Ontario studying Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Lyrical, and competed for many years. She then attended the Professional Training Program at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada, followed by the School of Alberta Ballet, graduating from the Professional Graduate Certificate Program in 2015. She has participated in several summer intensives with both of these schools, as well as American Ballet Theatre, Cincinnati Ballet and ProArte Danza and has worked with Ballet Jörgen and Alberta Ballet.
Megan holds Registered Teacher Status with the Royal Academy of Dance after completing the Certificate in Ballet Teaching studies, and is also an RAD Silver Swans Licensee as well as an RAD Approved Tutor for the Assistant Teacher Award. Megan is also certified In Progressing Ballet Technique and Acrobatic Arts. She is thrilled to be able to share her love of dance with her students and is looking forward to an amazing season!

Miss Sakshi | Hip Hop
Sakshi is a dancer and choreographer from Calgary, Alberta. She specializes in street choreography, where her style is primarily inspired by hip hop.
Sakshi began dancing in high school, where she joined illFX Education upon graduating after being awarded a scholarship at Eastside Dance Festival. She has since been training with Illfx Education under the mentorship of Edgar Gilbert-Reyes and Katherine Burrowes. She has – and continues to – train in styles such as hip hop, dancehall, soca, afro, house, wa*cking and voguing. Sakshi began choreographing in 2019 and has had a love for teaching since. She has competed, and has had her work featured, in competitions such as the Peak Invitational, Artists Emerge, The View, Represent, Monsters, and Dancer’s Paradise. She currently is a co-director for an advanced competitive crew at illFX Education named Nemesis. She also sits on the advisory board for Calgary’s Eastside Dance Festival.
Outside of dance, Sakshi is passionate about clinical health research. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Health Sciences (Honours), and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Neuroscience.

Miss Sarah | Ballet, Foundation, Lyrical, Sampler
Sarah has been teaching for over 30 years. She believes in the “person first, dancer second” philosophy where
they are children first that are learning to be kind and responsible adults. She believes that all dancers have a unique dancing artistry that is to be celebrated.
Sarah began her dance training in Leduc in Highland Dance at the age of 9. Soon after she added in ballet and of course that snowballed into tap, lyrical, modern, jazz etc. She graduated from the Edmonton School of Ballet and was a company member of Edmonton Festival Ballet Company performing solo repertoire from Swan Lake, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and many amazing works by the company choreographers.
After graduation Sarah moved to Grande Prairie where she became certified in RAD Ballet, Highland Associate, Acrobatic Arts, MUV Method as well as any course available such as Mental Health and Mindfulness programs with Lauren Ritchie, Fascia Training, Anatomy courses, Ballet Blog and Physio training with Lisa Howell.
She enjoys a path of continuous learning as she has completed her Reiki 2 Level. She was a studio owner for 14 years and in her studio she had dancers ages 1 and up. She had the biggest preschool program in Grande Prairie as her program was created with imagination, fun and love of dance.
Sarah’s passion is for teaching and seeing dancers for the beautiful humans they are.

Miss Sydney | Jazz
Sydney began her dance training at the age of five, building a strong technical foundation through years of dedicated study. She completed all ADAPT Jazz and RAD Ballet examinations, earning her Solo Seal in 2011 under the mentorship of Sandra Elliott.
She trained extensively at Danscott Studio, before continuing her classical ballet education at Alberta Ballet School. In addition to her formal training, Sydney further developed her artistry through summer intensive programs with Boston Ballet and Royal Winnipeg Ballet, gaining exposure to diverse teaching styles and repertory.
After completing her university degree, Sydney moved to Vancouver to pursue a professional dance career. Her performance credits include appearances in television series such as Deadly Class and The Man in the High Castle. Alongside her performance work, she has shared her knowledge and passion for dance as a faculty member at Harbour Dance Centre.
Grounded in classical technique, Sydney’s work as a dancer and educator is defined by her enthusiasm, versatility, and expressive artistry.
