Miss Amanda is a Director, Producer, Choreographer & Instructor of 30 + yrs. She was the Artistic Director of Step with Style from 2006-2025. Along with Directing of Durham’s #1 performing arts school, she is a sought-after performer/instructor/choreographer & adjudicator in the Greater Toronto Area. She has been called upon to instruct and choreograph for professional studio spaces, educational institutions and entertainment industry performances. Amanda’s energy and passion for students giving their best has led her to become the instructor that she is today.
Amanda’s performance training includes graduation from Vlad’s Dance Company, Derosiers Dance Theatre Advanced Summer Programs & National Dance Canada Professional Level programs. Instruction wise Amanda trained under the direct supervision of Vlad Novitski the Director of one of Canada’s Top Studios Vlad’s Dance Company and worked as his right hand for over 5 years instructing all ages and levels.
Additionally, she invested in A.D.A.P.T overview work with Angela Prosser from Hoofers Performing Arts and taught for studios such as Sean Boutilier School of Dance and Canadian Dance Company before opening her own company – Step with Style Dance Productions.
Her performance career began as a competitive dancer. This is where she won awards such as Highest Mark in a Solo Performance, Best Overall Soloist and the title “Ms. Dance ’99”, to name a few.
Following her graduation Amanda earned a place on the roster of Toronto’s top Agency DaCosta Talent. Amanda had an exciting start to her career; Touring Ontario with the Ontario Ballet Theatre for “The Nutcracker”, touring Canada with The Next Step Canadian Tap Company for “The Rhythm Of Life”, as well as touring the US as Dance Captain with Jean Ann Ryan Productions.
Through the years she was honoured to tour Europe with MolyneuxEntertainment and Gary Musick Productions performing in production shows such as, “Spotlight Broadway”, ”Celebrate The World”, “Fantasy”, “Rhythm Of The Night”, “Ces Magnifique”, “Classique”, and “Let’s Rock”. Additionally, she was part of the lead adagio couple for all of these productions shows. Her ballet repertoire includes; The Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, Spanish Variation, and Doll Soloist (The Nutcracker).
No stranger to the camera Amanda’s music video participations include, “Here Comes The Sunshine” by Love Inc. (this video won Best Dance Video of 2000 at the Much Music Awards), and “Dear Life” by Chantal Kreviazuk. She has performed in movies by Disney “Angels In The Infield”, ABC “A Mothers Day Special”, “Mr. Rock and Roll, The Allan Freed Story”, and Lionheart Productions “Jodi” & “Taal”, as well as commercials for CBC and the Heritage Channel. One of Amanda’s favourite moments in her career was tapping with Gregory Hines in a show directed by George Randolph, as a tribute to Gregory as a member of Ryan Foleys Next Step Canadian Tap Company.
This incredible catalogue of professional experience in an array of genres has absolutely enriched her instruction abilities and is such a rare find.
Over the years, under Amanda’s direction her students have won countless awards, scholarships, and titles at national competitions. The training and programs provided have given SWS students the ability to audition and be accepted for other prestigious training companies such as; The National Ballet School of Canada, Alvin Ailey, Joffrey Ballet School and the Alberta Ballet. Amanda’s students have also been hired on Broadway and MervishProductions as cast members of “Billy Elliott”, “Matilda”, “Annie” as well as in television series’ “American History” and “The Strain”. Her dancers who have completed the triple threat training under her direction have also moved on to open their own dance studios, retain recording contracts, performed in internationally televised commercials, Shawn Desman videos-to name a few!
As a choreographer, Amanda often receives judges’ comments on her innovative choreography and style. In the past, her routines have won a multitude of Specialty Awards, Overall Awards, Rhythm Cups, “The Young Choreographer Award” for both Junior and Senior divisions at The American Dance Awards.
In seasons past, her routines have been named as “Best Presentation”, “Most Entertaining”, “The Total Package” and more! As an adjudicator, she inspires and motivates the students to reach new heights, and grow with their art by listening to and accepting corrections. Her students have been selected to represent Team Canada at the worlds and the opportunities for them continue to come!
Apart from choreographing hundreds of winning competitive routines she also has choreographed two full-length professional productions shows, “Swing, Swing, Swing!”, and “Hometown USA” for Regal Cruises. Amanda also enjoyed her time as the lead choreographer/producer in Vlad’s Dance Company’s 2004 production of “Singing In The Rain”.
Amanda absolutely loves directing and producing and is well known for her year-end productions. She has been the creative mastermind behind many productions thus far; “Singing In The Rain” for VDC, “Pirates of The Caribbean; The Curse of The Black Pearl!” 2008, “Maleficent” 2014, “The Angels” 2015, “Suicide Squad” 2017, “The Greatest Showman” 2018, “Madonna” 2019, “The Free Guy” 2022, “All You Need Is Love” – a story inspired by Moulin Rouge 2023, “The Bodyguard” 2024 & most recently “Chicago” 2025.
